Making Up

Is it hard to do? A trine of sisters say, yes!

Welcome to Cosmic Persona Designs, an art gallery of botanical, plus: visionary, cosmic, and archetypal art of the drawing persuasion. Prismacolor Oil and Rexel Derwent Watercolour pencils are employed here--usually on black paper, but sometimes on white.

Masks and the Feminine Mystique may well apply--the Ceres, Juno, Vesta, and Pallas in us all.

Scroll down a smidge for an Art SlideShow, a Flickr Badge, and some cool links just for you!

And visit Dreamyfish Art and Secret Moon Art Galleries for more images by yours truly, Jude Cowell (Coh' wull, not cow as in moo-cows or Simon!)

You may also wish to look for Jude Cowell's portfolio on Absolute Arts.com if you're over 17, please!

And if you're in the mood to check out some political-cats-who-blog, stop by Lim's Limericks because we may as well laugh at the politicians who're attempting to define the world for us all--let's define our own, shall we?

Even if it takes a groanworthy limerick to do it!

Party On!

Well you've moseyed into Cosmic Persona Designs where you'll find the occasional odd drawing to make you ask, but why?

Party On! is one I consider a blend of the frequent mask-persona theme along with a smidge of current events tossed into the fire.

Please scroll down for more images, a SlideShow of Cosmic Persona Designs, and some
rather cool links for your clicking pleasure!

Celebrate!

Here at Cosmic Persona Designs, we're preparing early for the winners' celebration at the midterm elections in November...this bubbly is for the honest winners, that is--and ya know who ya are.

Yeah. One bottle is likely enough. And probably just one glass, too, sad to say.

Be that as it may, be sure to also visit my other gallery of tropical fish portraits called Dreamyfish Art or check out our new link at Agora Gallery of NYC--look for Dreamyfish Art in their Nature and Wildlife section under "recently added links."

Dreamyfish floating around the SoHo and Chelsea art districts of New York--yes!!
Fish gotta dream, too, as I always say!

Culture Collage

Here at Cosmic Persona Designs, drawings are the usual fare but here's a collage done in 1995. Every once in a while, I lapse into collage mode as you can see.

So today it's a helping of Archaeology plus Fish...two of my favorites!

Her Plea: 16 Gemini

Welcome to Cosmic Persona Designs!

This drawing is my interpretation of the "16 Gemini" degree of the zodiac, "A woman activist in an emotional speech dramatizing her cause"...from Dane Rudhyar's version of the Sabian Symbols--an evolutionary description of life's natural processes as they move through the 360 degrees of the zodiac--the circle of life.

This is utilized most obviously in Astrology charts which are celestial maps of the locations of planets and stars at any given moment in time--and TIME is what Astrology brings to any analysis--whether personal or collective--which no other discipline can offer.

So what does "16Gem" mean?

Keynote: A passionate response to a deeply felt new experience.

Keywords: THE PROSELYTIZING MIND.

This degree speaks of the act of dealing with those who are still unaware of (the) new knowledge or realization. A public is needed, and it has to be convinced; its inertial resistance to change has to be overcome. This usually requires an emotional dramatization of the issues at stake.

A woman is depicted which indicates a person who depends upon feelings and fiery images (may be male also) to sway the receptive public.

What is at stake is a process of communication of new experiences...the mind is called upon to perform its work. #

Here is a "reasoned conviction" (Dr. Marc Edmund Jones.)
