Cosmic Persona Designs collection closes for good

As you can see, this art gallery is closed until further notice. My Chiffonery, Cosmic Lilith, and Sexy-Fun Art drawings are apparently too racy for go^gle even behind an 'adult warning' notice but with children online, it's completely understandable (I'm a mom, too.)

So if you somehow landed here expecting to view a little Art, you may wish to mosey over and browse a few images at FaceBook but be aware that a new page has been published: Strickland Genealogy. Also, my portfolio 'jude cowell' is searchable at Red Bubble if you know your way 'round there!

Plus, you'll most often find me at two spots: my Political Astrology website Stars Over Washington and Neptune's Silver Screen for films, trailers, bios, and horoscopes of Classic Film Stars!

Aubergine Arrives at last (sexy-fun art!)

A cameo of Aubergine in her Cosmic Lilith Art Calendar 2011 post seemed something you might enjoy this evening so I asked her to drop by for a few minutes to meet you!

'Genevieve' of the Brooklyn Art Library New York

Genevieve's portrait is the first addition here at Cosmic Persona Designs since August 16, 2012 and it's hard to believe that I've been AWOL from CPD for so many moons. Naturally, you are pardoned for not noticing my absence or a dearth of illustrations!

And while it's true that most of my now-limited online hours have been spent over at Stars Over Washington or on Jude's Threshold (an astrological reference to Saturn as gatekeeper of the Unconscious), 'busy elsewhere' is only poor justification for deserting what is actually my first-ever blog, an art gallery blog, set up in June 2005. Over 8 years ago!

So if you will accept my expression of regret upon this score, perhaps a gander at the following pencil portrait of Genevieve published here might make up for a little of my scandalously lackadaisical neglect of CPD! jc

Genevieve, a previously published colored pencil and pen portrait on white paper (plus, some collaging) by Jude Cowell 2013+. This drawing and others are viewable ~in person~ if you ask to see my Sketchbook Project titled Fractured Fashions 2012 (7" x 5"...tiny!) at the Brooklyn Art Library NYC...why, it would be almost as if you and I were visiting together so please drop by if you should find yourself in the neighborhood and feeling in an art browsing mood!

Oh! And Happy New Year to All if I don't return to CPD before 2014!

Coming Soon: a brand new venue for Jude Cowell Art at Fine Art America! I'm trusting that open spaces will soon appear in my crowded schedule so that an interesting page may be put together for viewers with Dreamyfish Art tropical fish portraits the first illustrations to appear in the gallery, so do float by whenever you can!

Cosmic Persona Designs dissed for Political Astrology's sake?

Confession: since the 2012 political campaign has heated up these last several months, I've been so busy blogging through the lens of Political Astrology that once I completed my Sketchbook Project 2012 in April and sent it along, my drawing table has become little more than a gi-huge dust collector, at least until the debates, Election Day 2012, two eclipses in November, and Winter Solstice 2012 are over!

In fact, there's such a plethora of political and cosmic events to writer about that I've begun a Political Astrology Newsletter for serious readers who wish to subscribe for more in-depth astro-details.

Not to be outdone by my own very self, I hereby post one of the designs from the pages of my Sketchbook Project, Fractured Fashions 2012:

Now, cats'n'kitties, enjoy a new cycle of activity which starts with tomorrow's New Moon in joyful, playful Leo!

Practice drawing for Sketchbook Project 2012?

This weekend I began practice drawing--doodling, really--on white paper since I tend to draw on black paper 99% of the time yet to take part in Arthouse's Sketchbook project due April 30, 2012, sheets of white paper must turn up on my drafting table.

Here you see Genevieve, a simple portrait of what seems to be a rather anxious young lady although this style and theme of subject may not be at all what turns up in my Sketchbook by April!

Genevieve: black gel pen on white paper colored with Prismacolor oil and Rexel Derwent watercolour pencils by Jude Cowell 2011.

Here's info on the 2012 Sketchbook project if you wish to check it out. Fiction is part of it as well, if you don't draw but love to read and write!

And who doesn't, really?

Plus, mosey on over to Red Bubble, an artists' site where I first discovered Arthouse's excellent Sketchbook project...

Chantal by Window (sexy-fun art by Jude Cowell)

Here's a partial view of a new drawing Chantal by Window which I'm publishing today because I just realized it's been since April 2011 that Cosmic Persona Designs has gained a new portrait for its collection!

The primary reason I've been away from this, my very first blog (June 2005!) is that there's been so many events occurring in Washington DC and elsewhere that 90% of my blogging time is taken up with reading Politics, studying horoscopes, and typing articles over at Stars Over Washington which I created in October 2005 to help diffuse frustrations over what I then saw as a fascist direction being forced upon the American people by an allegedly legitimate president. (Even now I loathe typing you-know-whose war-mongering, draft-dodging name.)

Note: SO'W is written in English so you don't have to speak 'astrologese' to read articles there. But a secret desire to peek under the hood of Politics using the lens of Astrology is invaluable for politicians who infest our nation's capital deserve it! And sadly, the 'fascist' direction of the US (of the world) becomes more apparent each day unless we-the-people change it.

So the other 10% of blogging time is divided between my 'tapestry blog' Jude's Threshold (Art, Astrology, Politics, & News), a second 'sexy-fun art' gallery Cosmic Lilith Art, a crazy Sciencey-Poemy blog Woolly Mammoth Chronicles (where I fret rhymily over mammoth cloning & post Science videos & stuff), and my Jude Cowell Art Shop which is hosted by the excellent and is handily open for art browsing 24/7.

Hope you'll think to drop by any of these spots where you'll find me most often on the Web! For you know I'll be missing you until you do... Jude

The Return of 'Cassandra's Blessings'!

With all that's going on in the world tonight I feel like a few Cassandra's Blessings, you know?

What to believe, and what not. Being doubted and not seen for who one truly is - the identity and self-worth issues most of us face from day to day, and the search to develop and use one's intuitive faculties even when others advise against doing so...self-belief.

If we must first deceive ourselves before anyone else can do so, then building a sense of self-integrity is paramount for avoiding the selling of one's soul (self), and if accomplished, this leads to successful self-reliance.

In Greek Mythology, Cassandra is the prophetess who tells the truth but no one believes her due to a spell put upon her by Apollo (in one version.) Kind of 'an offer she couldn't refuse' but she refused it anyway (Apollo's advances) and his curse resulted in Cassandra's word and prophecies being doubted from then on. It was a revenge spell, very lowbrow.

Apollo's abuse of power and his pure spite in this matter are not mentioned in the versions I've read, but you know those high and mighty gods! They think themselves so high above us all yet through spite and selfishness they lower their own standards.

Yet to me it seems very seldom that a majority of the global population really wants to know futuristic stuff. Or is it more because, "A hungry man is not a free man" - free and with time to lounge about while considering Mythology-inspired questions...hmmm?

Note: this illustration has been previously published by the artist as, Kassandra's Blessings. And btw, you are invited to read about current and historical events as seen through an astrological lens generously stained with a common good/commonwealth tint (and written in English) @ Stars Over Washington.

Plus, you might wish to visit my WordPress blog, too, if you get a mo to spare. Jude

Art for the cusp of 2011? Gazer Future Past

Gazer Future Past is one of my pencil-on-paper archetypal representations of a seer able to look forward and backward simultaneously which is pretty much what many folks tend to do as one year ends and a New Year begins - and we're almost on the cusp of 2011 now!

You notice the symbol of Chiron on her bracelet - and Chiron says, Be Here Now! That's Pallas' symbol on the gazer's forehead though some think it favors the symbol of Venus. Either works for me.

So please meander over and browse 24/7 at my Jude Cowell Art Shop @ Zazzle where you might find something of interest like art-decorated iPhone and iPad cases, or wall art posters and such - and your kind ratings on items are much appreciated, too!

If you feel so inclined, that is.

Wishing Merry Holidays to All and a Happy New Year! Jude

Note: if you haven't yet, opt to check out my latest blog - it's a science-y/poem-y concoction of news and poems about past and future cloning projects called Woolly Mammoth Chronicles, okay? ;p
